illuminate Creative Arts Co, formerly A Work in Progress Productions, quickly evolved from a budding initiative into a thriving youth arts organization. To support its rapid growth, a rebrand was needed—and that’s where I came in.
We chose a bold yet friendly typeface, with the two “L”s doubling as spotlights shining upward. This design not only reflects the company’s students frequently taking the stage but also symbolizes their impact beyond it—spreading their light through illuminate’s community service programs and workshops. I created a complete brand identity, including a wordmark, symbol, and animated logo, bringing the spotlight concept to life in both static and motion design.
A fun, low-poly color palette was chosen to fill the spotlights, highlighting the playfulness and creativity of the youth arts nonprofit. The vibrant colors also represent the many facets of the organization—from theater programs to art classes to community service initiatives—all coming together under one brand. To ensure consistency across all materials and future use, I created a comprehensive branding guide for illuminate as well (see above).
